Annalise Caron, Ph.D., Co-Director of CBT/DBT Associates, graduated from the University of Virginia and received her masters and doctoral degrees from Vanderbilt University. Dr. Caron completed a predoctoral internship at Columbia University Medical Center, and stayed on to coordinate the Advanced Center for Intervention and Services Research at the New York State Psychiatric Institute/Columbia University Medical Center. Prior to joining CBT/DBT Associates, Dr. Caron served as the Director of the Child and Family Therapy program at the American Institute of Cognitive Therapy.

Dr. Caron is trained in cognitive behavioral therapy across the lifespan, with expertise working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. She specializes in individual therapy for depression, anxiety disorders, relationship problems, low self-esteem and insomnia for all ages. In addition, Dr. Caron has expertise treating childhood disruptive behaviors and ADHD, as well as family interventions, parenting consultation, and parent training. Dr. Caron has experience working with individuals with mental health problems secondary to medical conditions such as HIV and cancer. In addition, she has received training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and is certified in Multi-systemic Therapy.

Dr. Caron has authored professional articles and book chapters on cognitive behavioral therapy and other empirically-supported psychotherapies, as well as studies examining the relation between parenting and child psychopathology. She has given presentations at numerous professional conferences and provided workshops and supervision to professionals on cognitive behavior therapy. While at Vanderbilt, Dr. Caron earned the American Psychological Association’s Koppitz Fellowship for her research on parenting and adolescent therapy outcome, one of three awards given nationally. Dr. Caron is an adjunct clinical supervisor in the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology in New York City.
